Amanda Roland, MA, CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
With over a decade of experience as a speech-language therapist, I believe a child's motivation and unique personality in combination with evidence and research-based practice are the keys to success in therapy. As a parent, I believe working in collaboration with families and understanding their concerns and goals is essential for a child's overall progress. You will often see me singing and dancing in therapy sessions, as music and movement help kids engage, focus, and have fun! My specialties include early intervention, social-pragmatic language skills, and feeding therapy.

Speech Language Pathologist
One of my favorite quotes states that "Communication is the essence of human life". It is this very concept that drove me to become a speech-language pathologist. I have a passion for helping children connect with others around them. Over the course of my career, I have learned the value of following a child's lead and recognizing differences as strengths. I believe speech therapy is very much an art, as well as a science. My specialties include stuttering, feeding disorders, and childhood apraxia of speech. I am also a certified Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) clinician, as well as a PROMPT Level 1 provider.
For the past 4 years I have been part of the Speech-N-Motion team and I feel so fortunate to work at a clinic that prioritizes family values, along with evidence-based practice. It is truly a privilege to work here!
In my free time, I enjoy partaking in novice agility courses with my rescue dog Luna. She continues to remind me to pay mind to the small things in life... like belly rubs, or delicious treats!

Owner, Speech Language Pathologist
I love what I do. I am lucky enough to build marble runs while I help a child find his words or speak so that others can understand her. I consider my profession an art as well as a science and treat my work with the dignity it deserves. On the flip side, I am a true “play geek” and make it my goal to have as much FUN as possible while building communication skills. Before becoming a speech therapist, I raced mountain bikes for several years (4 time national champion!), and grew up dancing 6 days a week. I believe in the power of muscle memory and understand that children’s motor movements are reflective of their speech patterns. In my mind, great therapy is well-researched, super fun, and targets underlying muscular systems and overall communication skills. I have specialized training in apraxia, autism, AAC intervention, routines-based intervention, and oral motor interventions.

Speech Language Pathologist
I feel very lucky to have found a field in which I can work together with children and families to support effective communicative skills. I think helping others create meaningful communication is one of the greatest gifts we can give.

As the newest member of Speech-N-Motion, I’m thrilled to work alongside established colleagues who believe in the same core values that I do. I try to make each session engaging by finding what motivates each child and incorporating that into therapy. I also believe collaborating with families is a key element to a personalized intervention and a significant part of evidence-based practice.
When I’m not working, I enjoy salsa dancing, pilates, hiking, rock climbing, and any beach activity.
